Letter: Former Yolo County Supervisor did not endorse Measure V either

I have received calls from Davis residents stating that they have seen my name and/or photo on a communication endorsing Measure V. This is to clarify that I have not endorsed Measure V. I was never approached by the YES on V campaign and never gave my permission to be listed as an endorser.

Jim Provenza

Jim Provenza served on the Davis Joint Unified School District’s Board of Education from 2003 to 2007 and was the representative of District 4 on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors from 2008 until 2024.

  1. Alan Pryor has been asked how Supervisor Provenza’s name got on the Endorsements list, but so far Alan has maintained radio silence.

On the Vanguard David Greenwald posted “That’s an even stranger story” but so far nothing, strange or otherwise, has been provided as an explanation.

It would be nice to get an explanation and an apology

      1. That’s very telling if no one has reached out to you and Jim personally.

Anyone else on the list that shouldn’t be?

How does the Yes on Measure V campaign, which has spend $780,000 on hiring PR consultants, political operatives like Andrew Truman Kim, scores of hired advocates being paid a minimum of $500 to post on social media NOT bother to check on assuming they have the endorsement of a contact a former elected? I mean seriously? How many other electeds, and non-elected are on the Yes on Measure V endorsement list who did not endorse the project? Looks like there are duplicate endorsers on their list to beef up their endorsement list. Also, looks like a good number of their “endorsers” are paid advocates too.

Hello All, my name is Andrew Kim with the Yes on Measure V campaign team. I take full responsibility for Jim Provenza’s name being listed on the endorsement page. That was a clerical/oversight error on my end. The moment this issue was brought to my attention, we removed Jim’s from the website and made sure that was the case for any other official marketing materials. I sincerely apologize to Jim Provenza and everyone else for this mistake. This was not done intentionally. I also sent a personal apology email to Jim Provenza directly. Again, my apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for your understanding here.
