Letter: Vote for Adam Morrill

A few Monday’s ago I attended the debate between folks running for city council and was very impressed with Adam Morrill. We spoke at intermission. He is intelligent, open, and eager to take on the problems at hand. He engages well with people and is a good communicator. I like his position on the issues and see that as a long-term resident of East Davis, he understands the problems facing District 1 and citywide. He opposed Measure H which Davis voters rejected.

I believe we need new City leadership and vision for a better future for Davis. We need a council member like Adam who will connect with the community and discuss issues that concern them. I am in strong support of Adam Morrill and encourage Davis voters to elect him.

I totally agree. Had a nice meeting with Adam a couple evenings ago, and have exchanged some emails since. He listens to Davis citizens, unlike the current council members who simply go their own way regardless of what citizens want. He’s got my vote!

Ancient, irrelevant information about Ms. Partida has unfortunately clouded this election. She is a fine person, but I support Mr. Morrill partly because of his commitment to meet with his constituents in person on a regular basis. Previous council members used to meet with constituents in farmers’ market on alternating Saturdays. They even responded to emails and phone calls when they represented the whole city, not just a fifth of it. Except for campaign appearances, I see little interest in this council communicating with their fellow citizens. Today, even emails to council are responded to with boilerplate from staff. It’s time for a change.

Let’s get someone new to represent District 1–namely Adam Morrill. We need new leaders and representatives on our City Council who listen to us and who understand our needs now before it is too late. Adam gets it, and he listens and is ready to take the appropriate action to address our concerns. Let’s rebuild our community with a leader like Adam Morrill.
